Food Waste Prevention:
40% of food in this country goes to waste. Through my work with an organization that connects food donors to meal sites, food pantries, and community partners, I’ve seen firsthand how much more we can do to feed Ohio families. It’s time to make it illegal for large corporations to throw away perfectly edible food that could be feeding people instead.
Tax the Rich:
Ohio’s flat 2.75% income tax helps the wealthy and hurts working families. While the rich get richer, our communities face cuts to schools, libraries, and social services. This cost Ohio up to $1 billion in lost revenue. We need to restore a tiered tax system so the wealthiest pay their fair share and we can reinvest in the services our families depend on.
Health Care:
Health care is a human right. We must expand access to affordable health care for all Ohioans and ensure that no one’s well-being is determined by their income or job. I support universal, single-payer coverage for all Ohioans.
Livable Wage:
Everybody deserves to earn a livable wage. As a food pantry manager in MidTown, I see too many people working multiple jobs and still relying on social services just to survive. We must create a state where anyone who works 40 hours per week can afford basic necessities like housing, food, and healthcare by raising wages and strengthening worker protections.
Housing:
Housing is a human right. In the richest country in the world, no one should be forced to sleep on the street. We must build a community that treats every neighbor with dignity and compassion by converting vacant buildings in Cleveland into safe, temporary housing and investing in long-term affordable housing solutions. By partnering with local organizations and prioritizing public funding for shelter and supportive services, we can reduce homelessness and give people a real path to stability.
Union Expansion:
I will strengthen collective bargaining so workers can negotiate over staffing levels, workload, and workplace safety. I will protect payroll deduction for union dues so workers can freely support their unions without political interference. when workers are prohibited from striking, I will guarantee fair, binding arbitration so their voices are still heard at the table. strong unions mean safer workplaces, better public services, and a stronger middle class for Ohio. Workers closest to the job should help decide how the job is done safely and effectively.
Veteran Assistance:
Ohio must do better by the men and women who served our country. I will fight to provide rental assistance and eviction prevention programs for veterans so no one who wore the uniform is pushed into homelessness. By converting vacant buildings into veteran-specific supportive housing and investing in apprenticeships and union training programs, we can give veterans both a safe place to live and a clear path to good-paying jobs.
Animal Welfare:
Ohio must take stronger action to prevent backyard breeding and protect animal welfare. As someone who has adopted a dog, I believe every animal deserves a safe and loving home. I support requiring state licensing for anyone who breeds and sells animals so we can hold breeders accountable to humane standards. This includes setting clear minimum requirements for safe housing conditions, regular veterinary care, and adequate space and sanitation for every animal. By enforcing these standards, we can stop abusive breeding practices, reduce overcrowded shelters, and ensure pets are raised in healthy and responsible environments.
Charter Schools:
In Ohio, charter schools have too often weakened public education instead of improving it. They take funding directly from local public schools while still leaving districts responsible for transportation, special education, and building costs. Many charter schools perform no better — and sometimes worse — than traditional public schools, yet operate with less transparency and accountability. Public dollars should go to strengthening neighborhood schools, not enriching private operators. Ohio must reinvest in fully funded, accountable public education that serves every child.
